Recruitment Strategies Consulting
SWRRN's consultants work closely with you to structure a compensation package designed to attract the top candidate. This can be an intense process, and we are often able to help avert potential problems. We can assist in any way necessary to close the negotiations and ease the transition for the successful candidate.

 

Background Checks / References
Once an ideal candidate is selected, we conduct a thorough and methodical background and reference check. Our goal is to obtain references from a minimum of two superiors, two peers and two subordinates with whom the candidate has worked. We find that this provides the best assessment of the candidate’s professional background.

Education Verification
Verifying the candidate’s education can be a time consuming process but is one of the most important final steps in executive search. SWRRN has a finely tuned method of successfully conducting education verification.

Exit Interviews
Additionally, we conduct the exit interviews that are not only necessary, but can yield invaluable information for future evaluation.

Suzanne Watson, Founder and Principal
Suzanne Watson has worked in executive search for over 20 years. As the Founder and Principal of SWRRN, she has a diverse search/research practice and expertise in virtually all-functional areas. Most of Ms. Watson’s work is conducted in healthcare, biotechnology, high technology, construction, mining, environmental, defense/aerospace, entertainment and general management.

Prior to establishing SWRRN, Ms. Watson was a Partner with The Simonds Group, a retained research and executive search firm. Proceeding this she served as Director of Research at Houze, Shourds & Montgomery, Inc., a leading retained boutique search firm base in the Los Angeles area. She also worked with the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiters (IACPR) in developing and organizing seminars on subjects of interest to the field.

In her current role with SWRRN, Ms. Watson provides valuable insight, strategy and direction in the execution of the firm’s executive search work. Ms. Watson is a member of the IACPR, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Employment Management Association and The Southern California Research Roundtable, an organization of research professionals. Additionally, she has been nominated for the Orange County Business Journal’s, 2006 Women in Business Award and has been a guest speaker at Long Beach City College covering such topics as “Preparing Yourself for an Interview” and “How to Write a Resume”. In addition, she has served on the Board of Directors for Senior Meals and Services, a non-profit organization in Orange County, California. Her tremendous enthusiasm and industry knowledge lead her to found SWRRN.

Karen Paul, Vice President
Karen Paul has been in the field of executive search/research for nearly seven years. She began her career with SWRRN as a Senior Researcher and was subsequently named as Vice President, overseeing most of the firm’s assignments within the entertainment (sports), healthcare, hospitality, construction and information technology arena.

Prior to her association with SWRRN, Ms. Paul served as the Investor Relations Director at the United Way of Salt Lake where her focus was on development and fundraising. Preceding this she served as the Executive Director of El Paso Pro-Musica, Director of Special Events for the Sun Bowl Association in El Paso, TX. She was also the Vice President, Business Manager for the El Paso Diablos, Inc. a successful minor league baseball team. Ms. Paul also has several years of experience in the hospitality industry working with several Hilton properties in Sales and Marketing.

Ms. Paul attended University of Texas at El Paso. She was the first woman inducted into the El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame and was National Association of Baseball Executive Woman of the year. Ms. Paul received the Outstanding Young Women of America Award, two consecutive years. While living in Texas she also served on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association, the Animal Rescue League and Las Palmas Medical Center Women’s Advisory Board. She was also a member of the United Way membership committee and a member of the Downtown Rotary Club.
